Only email people who asked to hear from you, and only about what they asked for.
Never use a list you bought, rented, borrowed or scraped.
Say who you are. Honest sender, honest subject, no forged headers.
Every marketing email needs a working unsubscribe and your postal address. SendClipper adds the unsubscribe header and refuses to send without the address.
Nothing illegal, nothing deceptive, nothing that harms the person reading it.
If your mail starts bouncing or drawing complaints, we pause it until we have looked at it with you.
Unsolicited bulk email is not allowed: not a little of it, not as a test, not "just this once". Every person you send marketing mail to must have given you permission to email them, for example by signing up on your site or ticking a box at checkout, and you must be able to show when and how they did.
Transactional mail (receipts, password resets, notifications about an account someone opened) needs no separate opt-in, but must stay transactional. Do not slip promotions into it.
Permission is not transferable. A list someone gave another company, a partner, or a previous owner of your business is not permission to you.
When someone unsubscribes or complains, stop. Do not ask them again from another list or another workspace.
A working unsubscribe. SendClipper puts a one-click unsubscribe header on every marketing message (mail clients show it as their own "Unsubscribe" button) and an unsubscribe link in every campaign. If you send your own HTML through the API, SendClipper does not edit it: put your own unsubscribe link in it, or send a template, whose {{unsubscribe_url}} tag SendClipper fills. An address that unsubscribes through SendClipper is suppressed the moment it does; do not hide the link, break it, or re-add the address later.
Your postal address. Add it once under Settings › Workspace; SendClipper prints it in the footer of every marketing message and refuses to send marketing mail from a workspace that has none.
SendClipper suppresses an address automatically when it hard-bounces, when its owner marks your mail as spam, and when it soft-bounces three times in seven days. Suppressed addresses are not mailed again. Do not remove them or import them under another name to get around it: that is the fastest way to a paused workspace.
Your bounce and complaint rates are measured over the last 30 days and shown under Analytics, where the warning appears first. The levels are Amazon SES's own:

We may pause a workspace's sending at those levels automatically, and by hand at any time we find mail that breaks this policy. A paused workspace cannot send until we have reviewed it with you; the dashboard says why, and the Terms of Service describe what happens next.
Received mail through SendClipper you never asked for? Forward it, with its headers, to abuse@sendclipper.com. A report we can confirm is grounds to pause the workspace that sent it.
